“The Price” is one of the most unique books that I have ever read. The book is a well-written one-act play that includes the dialogue of a handful of everyday characters. The setting is hell. The cast is Satan himself, an arrogant millionaire and a few other individuals that you might even know. All have been sent to hell for their differing sins and therefore, paid “The Price” of admission so to speak. The dialogue between Satan, the Millionaire and the inhabitants of hell will keep you thoroughly entertained, but will also keep you on the edge of your seat, to say the very least.

Author Leon Newton, in his play, “The Price” displays a thought provoking dialogue between the characters, which not only reveals the love, compassion and mercy of God, therefore bringing others to Christ through salvation, but also encourages one to consider their own salvation and walk with God.

Shedding light upon the darkness of mankind’s heart, the author continues the dialogue between the characters that will touch the heart and life of a person who wants real answers to real questions. Is there really a God? Who is He? What is the purpose of salvation and the forgiveness of sins? What does it mean to ask for forgiveness? What is repentance? What is the grace of God? How can we really know there is a God? All these questions are so masterfully answered throughout the play. This book is a delight to read.

This book is also a very powerful ministry tool, bringing conviction upon the reader, thereby having the potential of bringing many to Christ. The book ingeniously takes a look at the world in which we live in and the sins that so easily entangle us. Based upon a sound scriptural backdrop, God’s mercy, grace and love shine through and give glory to God while revealing the vital importance of a close walk with God and the grave consequences for not accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The book explains throughout the dialogue, why there is a need for salvation and the forgiveness of sins and is crucial to all walks of life.

This work is a must read and a must share book. The play is perfect for youth groups and churches to perform. I encourage you to pick up a copy and read it for yourself. It will leave an indelible imprint on your soul and make you realize what exactly Christ has done by His finished work on the cross. Early Christian Art

Just imagine living in the times of Christ or the apostles and as the church was being birthed. Or possibly 100 or 500 years later. Just imagine the cultures, the way of life and the art of those times. History tells us a lot. Over the years I have read some great books and viewed some great sites about Early Christian Art and found them amazing. Just like seeing great pictures of the history of Egypt or the Aztecs, it's amazing to see history of peoples from generations ago.

 

Something else that's fun to do is to pick a year in time and see what events unfolded. For example in 1920 or the 30's or the 40's or possibly on your birthday, the day you got married or on the day your child was born. A great site to do that at is called Brainy History. It's interesting, fun and also surprising.

Health, The Heart & Living Healthy

As I've gotten older, I have become more aware of my health in the sense that healthy eating and living is a must. I'm not the young kid that I once was that could run and run while eating ton of junk food and skipping meals. These days I'm very careful about what I eat, drink, and also about taking better care of myself. I wish I would have applied that wisdom when I was younger.

 

There are many great websites online that provide volumes of information about healthy living. One web site that I found to be very helpful about the heart is both The American Heart Association and The American Stroke Association. The American Stroke Association is solely focused on reducing disability and death from stroke.

 

Remember, educating yourself can lead to years of healthy living.

That time will soon be here and millions upon millions of children will celebrate Halloween. So what is this holiday and celebration all about? Is it simply fun, costumes, candy and children going from door to door? Or is there something else behind the holiday and celebration of Halloween? What is the History of Halloween?

 

As kids growing up, both I and my sister celebrated Halloween. Dressing up, the costumes, the trick or treat lanterns and yes, the candy was all a part of the celebration. It was fun and as with all children, we eagerly awaited that day.

 

Many years passed and when I became a Christian I did extensive studies online about Halloween and was quite shocked at what I found and read. The Stock Market Hits Big Numbers

Have you seen it? The rally and comeback as today's stock market hit 10,000 plus. Hey great. So do you have more money in your savings, did you get a raise at your job, did your utility bills go down, did your medical costs go down, did your health insurance go down, auto insurance, etc. Did this rally and comeback place any more money in your pocket or get your bills closer to being paid off?

 

How about our senior citizens. Did this rally and come back help them? What about all the people that lost their homes and life savings. Did it help them? I wonder who will get the credit for this great comeback and rally?

Dealing With Fear

Just imagine all the areas of life and life situations that this scripture can be applied to. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". That's pretty powerful and as it is written, "the truth shall set you free". You see, as a born again believer, you have been given a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind.

 

Yes there is natural fear or the fear encountered when danger arises. However sometimes fear can overtake a person, rule their life and bring forth bondage's. Fear can sometimes place a person in their own private prison. That's not God's Will in the live of His children.

 

If you deal with uncontrollable fear, may the Spirit of Truth set you free, that you may live a life free in Christ and become all that God is calling you to be. I rebuke the spirit of fear that is taunting you and proclaim liberty over your life in the name of Jesus.
